A New Political Paradigm

I'm with George Lakoff in understanding the need to change the terms of the debate and turn the tables on the Republicans, the Conservative Movement, and the Religious Armaggedonists. Getting our terms right is incredibly important.

The division is not between left and right, liberal and conservative, or Democrat and Republican. It is between between the Scrooges and the Tiny Tims, the moral of which lies in the difference between heartlessness and compassion. And we know how that story ends.

It was not Cratchit's fault that Scrooge was a miserly s.o.b. But, the conservatives would have us believe that this is so. This is the argument that must be won if there is to be change in America.
